This is a pair of panels, each 48 x 12 acrylic. They can be sold separately but are intended as a diptych. These paintings are the result of a long period of experimentation in drawing and painting trees in which I have played with color, style and interpretation. The paintings are based on photographs I have taken in various parts of the world including the Bay Area and London parks. These include redwood forests, stands of eucalyptus, sidewalk ginkos and solitary palms. Studying different bark patterns and the natural design of branch and root growth I have strived to use lines and colors to create an abstraction of nature. In Cadenza I have added mushroom clusters, and these are echoed and balanced by the leaf-like daubs in Caprice, both panels painted in a whimsical Art Nouveau style. $2000 each or $3500 for the pair.
