After art school and university, Gary moved on to design and produced award winning engineering drafting and design software (CAD).

Early in the new millennium, after the PC renaissance ebbed, he returned to his artistic roots. He brought the drafting and design software, he helped design and build, with him. This became an electronic sketch pad for exploring for new and redefining old optical illusions.

Skilled use of these computer based tools allowed the definition and simplification of optical illusions. The artist succeeded and the Exploring Illusions project was born.
