International Studio and Curatorial Program

Studio residencies (2 months-2 years) are provided in midtown Manhattan, to non-U.S. artists.The program includes visits by guest critics, open studio exhibitions, and field trips to art centers. Participants are sponsored by governments, corporations, foundations, galleries, or private patrons. Artists are provided with 24-hour access to private studios and (sponsor-permitting) a furnished apartment in Manhattan. In most cases, the sponsor provides the artist with a stipend for living expenses, travel, and materials.

Light Work invites 12-15 artists for month-long residencies. Each artist is given the opportunity to create new work at the studio facility at Syracuse University. Artists-in-residence receive a stipend, an apartment, private darkroom, and 24-hour access to the facility.

Location One offers residencies for 3-10 months (up to 9 at one time), with 24-hour studio access. The g-month Longwood Cyber Residency, in the Bronx, begins every fall and provides artists with free access to equipment, workshops, technical consultants, and honoraria, to experiment with online technologies as creative tools. Full-time graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in any degree program, and previous-year recipients of any Bronx Council on the Arts Awards are not eligible.

Socrates Sculpture Park offers 2 residency programs on their waterfront park, overlooking the Manhattan skyline.
