Account:High-Resolution Images

Dear Artist,

We are excited to announce a new MesArt feature which allows you to upload high resolution images, and visitors to view them in the artwork's Enlarge page.

We now accept high-resolution images of up to 1 MB size and up to 2000 pixel width. The images that are wider than 600 pixels are automatically watermarked with your name and copyright statement in large views (e.g. on the Enlarge page).

Note: Unfortunately, it wouldn't be possible for us to convert the images of lower resolution already in your account into images of higher resolution (that is, of better quality). An image of lower resolution can be 'scaled' to appear larger, but it is just appearance of being bigger; it does not add to image quality and sometimes distorts the image. Unfortunately, there no process exists in nature for converting images of lower resolution into images of higher resolution. You'll have to upload the images with bigger widths. For the images that are wider than the threshold of 600 pixels, the system recognizes they need additional protection and watermarks them to protect author's rights.

If you don't want any changes in your account right now, you don't have to do anything. If you would like to take advantage of this new feature, re-upload your images with increased image sizes.
