Application Deadline to become a Visual Aid Artist: June 5

Do you know a visual artist living with HIV/AIDS, Cancer or other life-threatening illness who could use some help?

Please consider forwarding this email to anyone you think may be interested in finding out more about Visual Aid.

Visual Aid provides an ArtBank for free art supplies, twice-yearly grants for art supplies and services, image archives, exhibition opportunities and community for member artists.

The organization presents 15 exciting exhibitions each year, along with a workshop, lecture series that are free and open to the public.

Visual Aid accepts applications from visual artists (drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital art, mixed-media, installation) with life-threatening illnesses who reside in San Francisco, Oakland, or anywhere in the nine-county Bay Area: Sonoma, Napa, Alameda, Solano, Marin, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Francisco counties. Professional visual artists who have been making and exhibiting art over a period of years are encouraged to apply.

Workshop: The Essential First Thirty

Two sessions: Monday, November 5th, and 12th 6.30 pm-8.00 pm

Learn strategies to develop an effective, concise 30 second synopsis of what is unique about you and your artwork.

Over the course of this interactive two part workshop you will develop and present your written artist statement and practice your own 30 second pitch with peer review and instructor feedback.

For the second session you will need to bring a finished piece of artwork 36 x 36 or smaller.
