Responsibilities include teaching in the Arts After School Program for students in grades 4-6.

Applicants for 6-week and 3-month fellowships must have basic hot glassworking skills, be at least 21 years of age, have basic English language skills, reside in the residency house during the fellowship term, be a U.S. citizen or have a valid entry Visa for the period of the fellowship, and be willing to work in view of visitors 12 hours weekly (not including assisting time). Fellowships include monthly stipend, free housing, 24-hour access to facilities, and individual studio spaces.

International Studio and Curatorial Program

Studio residencies (2 months-2 years) are provided in midtown Manhattan, to non-U.S. artists.The program includes visits by guest critics, open studio exhibitions, and field trips to art centers. Participants are sponsored by governments, corporations, foundations, galleries, or private patrons. Artists are provided with 24-hour access to private studios and (sponsor-permitting) a furnished apartment in Manhattan. In most cases, the sponsor provides the artist with a stipend for living expenses, travel, and materials.
Light Work

Light Work invites 12-15 artists for month-long residencies. Each artist is given the opportunity to create new work at the studio facility at Syracuse University. Artists-in-residence receive a stipend, an apartment, private darkroom, and 24-hour access to the facility.

Location One offers residencies for 3-10 months (up to 9 at one time), with 24-hour studio access. Residents from abroad are selected by both a panel in New York and one in their home countries, and Location One works closely with cosponsors in each country (co-sponsors are responsible for all residency costs and stipends). U.S.artists-in-residence are proposed by curators, critics, and by the staff.

The g-month Longwood Cyber Residency, in the Bronx, begins every fall and provides artists with free access to equipment, workshops, technical consultants, and honoraria, to experiment with online technologies as creative tools. The residency is open to visual artists working in all media; some computer knowledge is necessary. Full-time graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in any degree program, and previous-year recipients of any Bronx Council on the Arts Awards are not eligible.

SWING SPACE
For visual artists, performing artists, & arts groups 1 to 4 months
Swing Space is a project-based space-granting program that matches artists and arts organizations with temporarily vacant commercial space downtown. Development, presentation and office space for visual and performing artists and arts groups are typically awarded for one to four months and are accompanied by a project stipend ranging from $300 to $3,000.

Starting in 2002, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) and the City of Paris, in collaboration with the Cultural Services Department at the French Embassy in New York, have partnered to provide one New York City artist per year with the opportunity to live and work at the Cit Internationale des Arts in Paris, France.

Socrates Sculpture Park offers 2 residency programs on their waterfront park, overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Emerging Artist Fellowships, open to emerging New York State artists in need of financial assistance, include a 2- to 6-month residency in the outdoor studio; stipend; access to facilities, materials, equipment, and technical assistance to create a work for exhibition; and administrative assistance.
