Considered the most important yearly show of pastel art outside New York City, this annual event features 100 of the approximately 600 works submitted by top pastel artists from the United States and beyond.

Highlights include a Saturday parade, a carnival, an old-fashioned tug-o'-war, and the Bull of the Woods contest—a cherished tradition that pits brawn against more brawn as two contestants battle each other to stay on a log. Also on tap are a crafts fair and Sunday's big pro logging show, where you'll see axe-throwing, bucking, and all sorts of other lumberjack activities.
